Before you jump in with weMail, let’s make sure your WordPress site is ready. Don’t worry- this won’t take long.
What you must have
- WordPress 5.6 or later – older versions may work, but you’ll miss out on security and features.
- PHP 5.6 or later – technically works, but it’s old. (See below for what we actually recommend.)
- MySQL 5.6 or later – the database that keeps everything running.
What we recommend
If you really want weMail (and your site) to run smoothly:
- Keep WordPress updated to the latest version (we have tested up to 6.8.2).
- Run PHP 7.4 or higher – it’s faster, safer, and simply better.
- Use MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.3+ – modern databases = fewer headaches.
Optional, if you need it
WooCommerce 3.3 or later – only if you’re planning to send WooCommerce emails with weMail.
That’s it. If your site checks these boxes, you’re good to go. Next stop: Installing weMail
